Steve holds a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University and is a retired member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

As a councillor Steve will stand up to defend Jill and Joe Average NOTLers' interests by re-setting the relationship with senior levels of government to demand respect for our municipality as a co-equal partner.

We need to end senior government downloading and limit uncompensated provincially imposed mandates to restore fiscal balance. This will allow us to rein in unaffordable and unsustainable hikes in property tax bills.

Steve favours responsible land use planning decisions that regulate private property rights appropriately to respect our official plan and zoning bylaws. We need new developments appropriate to the unique scale, heritage and agricultural traditions that make NOTL unique among Ontario municipalities. We need controlled growth that will enhance services for permanent residents, sustain the local tourism sector while guarding us against the risks of over-tourism.
